All the Layers

There can many layers of reality, some seen and some unseen. On magical nights, we can see what’s been hidden from us. Among others, there are four times of the year when this can occur: the two solstices and the two equinoxes.

The Tower rules over us all

The weather in Calgary can change very quickly and for a photographer that makes for a lot of interesting lighting conditions. If you happen to be in the right spot, and look around, there is always a new way to photograph something familiar.

Isolation

Depending on where you stand, the Calgary Tower is either hidden by taller buildings or can stand all alone. Its silhouette used to dominate the Calgary skyline.

Let’s Celebrate the Kingdom

The day Canada became recognized as its own kingdom by Britain is July 1st, 1867. Originally called Dominion Day, July 1st is now celebrated as Canada Day. In Calgary, the day of celebration ends with fireworks set off from the Centre Street Bridge.
