I’ve been storytelling all my life.

It’s naturally how I think. Ask me about my shoes and I can tell a story. How did I get to the airport? There’s a story there. There’s a story in everything.

I write to make sense out of life; to give me distance so I can get over hard times, and keep a record of the good times.

I began my writing career writing screenplays, and then switched to theatrical plays. Dialogue is my specialty and I love it when my characters begin talking to each other. My one act play Hair Today played to good reviews in the Vancouver Fringe Festival.

Currently I am focused on writing novels as I can explore many aspects of a single idea. I enjoy the journey as the metaphors begin to emerge.

I live to make firsthand, honest connections with people and places, and then communicate those experiences to help create a more inclusive world.

These connections can happen in the corner grocery story or in a different country across the globe, but I value and endeavor to allow, listen and identify when they occur.

I do this by writing, taking photographs, study and traveling to experience the different cultures of the world. From history and archaeology; food and cuisine; music and dance; to language and silly things like slang words and pet peeves.

What inspires me is knowing how a person truly thinks and feels. No judgment, just honest interaction. When someone tells me their truth, that is sacred territory and it’s what I live for. That information goes into the vault, but the essence I will share in my work.
